Wonderful Wednesday!

Other than having D'Boy home for 2 whole weeks to play with, there are many good things going on around here at the moment! :) It seems that my new catnip planter has been planted and there are 4 varieties of wonderful fragrant 'nip in there, with 2 more growing in separate pots... This seems most pleasing! :)

Now for the really wonderful news!!!! Oh yes my wonderful friends Trooder, Shadow, Molly and Jack the woffie have sent me a couple of Matatabi seeds so I can make Daddy grow some for me, and good as gold Daddy came home from work last night and went straight out to the greenhouse to plant the seeds and put them in the propagator! While he was out there I noticed him tending my next crop of cat grass too! :) Oh what a wonderful Daddy I have and what a wonderful Wednesday this is... Soon I shall have access to some top notch 'nip as well as some seriously good Matatabi (a.k.a. Silver Vine) and be able to spend my days in a merry drug induced fog... ;) I mean who cares that much about kittens when they are so eer umm "Happy" that they can can't quite walk straight, thinking has become all eer "Foggy" and I have a serious case of the "Munchies" ;) Sometimes it really is a good life! :)

Dear goodness I think I may have to pack my bags and take myself off to Yao-lin's freezing hovel on the Isle of Wight at this rate... Yes, I'm doomed! Doomed I say! What does that woman who says she's my Mum think she's doing to me, announcing the fact that she's forcing me to live with not just one ruddy Abyssinian female, but two!!! How can I cope, they're bossy you know and they like taking over all the nice warn sleeping spots I might like to try out... At least this new one is tiny, maybe I can just sit on her if she starts sleeping in places I feel like being?! Oh and there's the extra special food that woman keeps giving her, it's mighty tasty and getting my paws on some more leftovers wouldn't go amiss... She's also been a little more liberal with the cat treats of late... Ok I can see a few minor upsides to this situation after all! ;)

Then again there's those nice looking new planters that have appeared in my run, the cat grass that Daddy's growing for me in his new heated propergator and those nice new catnip plants too. Two varieties I have not tried as yet and I hear that the woman is going to be planting them along with my existing 3 varieties in the new planters, giving me more delectable catnip as well as more room for running around in out there... I hear she's planing to add a nice high shelf or sleeping platform and a ladder too, or might make us a huge scratcher and climbing frame this year! Ok, I guess she's my Mum but I reserve the right to grump, grumble and hiss at Setra all I like... What do you mean I do that to everykitty?! How dare you! I'm a cool dude and a total studly mancat I'll have you know and just in case you've all forgotten I'm D'Boss!!! Yep, all the food is mine, all the toys are too and you just have to know that all that catnip is mine all mine too! :)

Ok time for a nap now and don't you go waking me up now...

Well thank goodness for decent weather, I've got access to the run again and can get away from those noisy kittens and back to a bit of bird watching!

Oh what a wonderful time of year this is... The froggies are spawning and soon I will have a load of little suicidal froglets to play with. I mean talk about Darwinism and natural selection, any froglet that's dumb enough to break into a cat run is one that is not required to pass on it's genes! ;) I really am a dab paw at catching them when they do that, they're so entertaining too! :)

Better still Daddy tells me that we have mice in the compost heap, so I'm purring hard that some of them are daft in the head too and break into my run to come and play with me! :) Even if they don't they're great fun to watch scampering about in the garden looking for dropped bird seed to stuff their little mousey faces with...

Watch out Sir David Attenborough, I'm far better at quietly sneaking up on wildlife than you are and I'm happy to sit still for hours at a time, just waiting for the right beasty to come along and entertain me. Now come on Mummy, how about getting me some bunnies to look at?! I'd even go for some of those chickens that Ramses is so mad about, I mean they're at least entertaining! ;)

Well what can I say, but I'm in love!!!! Oh yes and the object of my desire is mine, all mine! :) This is a wonderful feeling, so much so that I have forgotten to bash, bop or grump at anykitty around here for nearly a week now! ;)

What is this strange and some what miraculous change in your personality I hear you ask, it is all down to my new love Matatabi! Here are some interesting facts about it:

Matatabi is a deciduous, tree-like vine, native to the Asian continent and the Islands of Japan. A close relative of the Kiwi vine, it grows wild in the highlands. It bears small white flowers in summer and small fruits in summer. The entire plant has been used in traditional Japanese medicine, and some of its uses are quite curious.

Long ago the Japanese people discovered that the leaf of the Matatabi vine drives cats crazy. When put into toys, cats play with them excitedly, slobbering, writhing, and dancing about in a strange state of heightened alertness. The herb induced performance is called the Matatabi dance. The dance is similar, but more extreme, to that which occurs when cats are exposed to catnip. Research has established this peculiar feline reaction is caused by volatile oils found in the leaves. Matatabi is more than a source of fun, it is used as a health stimulant for sick cats. As an infusion or powder, it is used to speed the recovery of ailing felines.

All I know is it's mine, all mine and I love it! Better still Daddy says he can get seeds to grow this plant for me and since it is a vine it can probably be grown against the side of my cat run, so that I can sniff it's delectable leaves all the time. Then when it's leaves are about to drop I can help Mummy harvest them, dry them and she says she'll make a load of Matatabi stuffed toys then! So all being well I will be able to send sweet little Tama-Chan a Matatabi ravioli for KissMouse... :) Anyway, back to my Matatabi and all those "feel good feelings" :)

Ok, I've had my fill of the kittens now can they go away now please? Look I want attention!!! Well ok I am getting a chance to steal queen bikky, but it's not enough compensation... Waaa...!!! Plus D'boy is back at school and not here to play with me, so I can't sleep in his bed all day either, and, and it's just not fair at all... I'm a hard done by mancat you know! I hope you all feel very sorry for me and understand my deep suffering, if not I just may have to sulk for a few weeks...

Bah humbug! It might have snowed again, but it hasn't snowed enough to keep D'Boy home with me today... I am therefore sulking in his room today as a sign of my utter disgust for this going to school thing he has to do. However Mummy has said I can have him home all next week, so I've promised to give up my protesting at meal times! ;) After all compromise is the way forward... :)

Other than the nasty weather and Isis being hugely pregnant, there has been quite a bit on TV of late about Red Squirrels! :) We are all huge fans of the lovely Red Squirrel here and as such watch anything we can about it eagerly, especially Ramses who sometimes seems to think he's a squirrel too - this just goes to prove my theory that he's totally nuts! ;) He just doesn't seem to understand that squirrels can't and don't eat nice juicy roasty chickens, nor do they get to snuggle in bed at night with their Mummy's. However it seems in order to protect the lovely Red Squirrel there will be a targeted cull of the Grey Squirrel that was introduced here from the USA in the 1800's, I gather this means it's open season on grey squirrels and since we have one in the garden that we've been fattening up over winter on a diet of peanuts and bird seed, I'm planning my move! I mean what better delicacy can there be than a well stuffed squirrel? ;) The only real downside to this plan of mine is that darn squirrel runs too fast for me at present and I don't really have the "get up and go" to start training for the chance when there's a nice bed full of teddy bears to cuddle with in D'Boy's room... Dreaming about catching the squirrel is all I can manage I guess! ;)

Well as some of you may know, we had loads and loads of icky white snow yesterday... D'Boy's school understands that I need him to snuggle with, so they sent him home to me after just half of the normal school day. Sadly they want him back today, but I livez in hope that he'll be sent home once more! :)

In the meantime I'z been occupying my time by exploring my creative side with the help of Ramses, Isis and Mummy! This is also to help keep Mummy's mind of the fact that Grammy is having her first radiation treatment for cancer today... See I can be a good and thoughtful cat at times! :P Now if only I could convince Mummy that feeding me loads of treats will help her not think of Grammy today... ;)

Anyway here's what we've been upto and NO these kyoot little onesies are not for me! Remember I'z a big masculine type of mancat and I doesn't do wearing pink, that's for girlycats and sweet little Blurpy Girls! :) However I'm very fond of Blurpies, even if they can't all be D'Boy they're pretty darn good and have the coolest toys and very snuggly blankets too... So you see I do have a softer side (no not my belly!), a more artistic and creative side and I'z an all around nice guy!

Just remember I'll bash yer good and proper if you'z going to disagree with me!

Yes friends it's National Bunny Week and as such I feel it my duty to stuff myself full of all the bunny flavoured food I can get my paws on! I have also been trying to explain to Mummy that I need a pet to help keep my mind off licking my belly bald... I've suggested a bunny as I can think of so many things I could do with a bunny and even if I got fed-up with playing with it, it'd still be very useful and probably very tasty too! ;) Ok, so I can't help myself I'm a little obsessive about bunnies...

Talking of things I'm obsessed with I have a new toy that's totally amazing! :) Honestly I thought d'nip was the only drug for me, with maybe a little Valerian on the side... Oh no honeysuckle too has it's place in my heart, to draw in deep fragrant sniffs of it and to savour them to their fullest extent... Mmmmmm...bliss! :)

Well what can I say, they've shoved me in my onesies for a good part of every day recently and it seems they're all excited over the look and feel of my belly after a week of this... I guess the excitement is over the fact that I've not managed to lick it all bare and pink! It actually seems to be turning black and fuzzy... Purrsonally I'm not quite sure what to make of it, I'd got very used to that bare nakid belly look and just loved the feel of licking away at my belly fluff stubble for hours on end... :( What, oh what to do with all my spare time now?! Mostly I've taken to sleeping or sitting like a statue and not talking or listening to Mummy... Ok so that's not that far different to my normal state! ;) However I have noticed that I've been getting a few more cat treats than I used to get, this is certainly a good up turn in my fate. Now I guess I'll have to work out how to do "cute", even if such a look is pretty alien to me - pursonally I'm far better at demanding and ordering! :)

Why, oh why can't Mummy be totally horrid? If only she was more like Yao-lin's slave, then I could feel fully justified in putting the bitey on her. The thing is she's nice and kind and caring and so I must repress my urge to show her fingers the jaws of death... :S It's not easy being a cat with inner conflicts like this! Now where is Ramses, I feel the need to "bop" someone good and proper and if I try doing that to Isis I'll just get told off again. Apparently it's mancatly to "bop" a pregnant ladycat... Oh bother I think I'll just go and rip up the vet bed again! ;)

It has been pointed out to me recently that I'm rather lazy when it comes to blogging, so I'm going to try and rectify this... In fact I'm doing my best to become a better Tigmut'hep in 2009 than I was last year. To this end I'm suffering a great indignity in order to try and break my over grooming habit! Oh yes, I've let them dress me in customized baby underwear... :S At least they got me white and blues ones and not the pink ones that my treacherous Boy suggested, I really would have had to leave him the gift of warm wet furball in the shoe if he had done that to me! Luckily for him Mummy stepped in and saved that small tragedy from happening... So I now have 2 blue and one white onesies that have been tailored to my exact requirements. I think that once Mummy has finished tailoring them all for my needs I may well insist that she customize them more fully with added slogans and the like! ;) Oh and just in case anykitty was wondering it seems I'm an age 3-6 months...

Mummy says if I wear these for a good portion of the day that I will have less opportunity to over groom while leaving me free to run around the house with Ramses and Isis if I so please. Seeing as the only other options were some sort of muzzle that would keep me from my food, or a conehead, I guess that Mummy and Daddy's invention is not so bad... The upside of it is I have a warm belly at last and I must say I do rather like that feeling! Once I've let some of my furs grow back I gather I won't have to wear my cloths as much, as long as I continue to refrain from my grooming habits of 12 hrs a day spent licking my belly pink... I kind of hope it works as I'm sick of Ramses poking fun of my nakid pink undercarriage and Isis asking me when the kittens are due! So paws crossed I can beat this compulsion, even if I can't kick the 'nip habit! ;)

Whinging Wednesday...

Well it's about time I had a good whinge after the treatment I've been putting up with recently... Honestly who asked my permission to take me to the VET's?! Did I say I wanted the badman to stick a needle in me?! I was feeling purrfectly well until I got that done to me and then you go on about my sulking for 36 hrs and even refusing to eat. What did you expect? You had me tortured and then expect me to be convinced that you haven't also poisoned all my food... You must think I'm daft! Oh no not me, I waited to see if those Abys got sick off the food before agreeing to eat again. Plus reaping the benifits of making you worry enough about me and my reaction to make sure I got my paws on some pretty good treat too! ;) Now if you don't mind I think I'll go sleep on your bed for the rest of the day, after all I don't want you to think you're forgiven as yet as there might be some more treats laying around that I might like later on today... :)

Big Fluffy Cushions!

Oh what luxury, what bliss! Mummy's made me two lovely, snuggly, warm and fluffy, faux fur cushion covers for my favourite lounging cushion! Apparently that means I can always have one on the go, even if I can't be bothered to move when throwing up after too much 'nip and a large dose of cat grass... ;) Well in my defence sometimes it's hard to move when the room keeps spinning and the floor feels all wobbly...

Anyway I can now snuggle up on my big old cushion in real style! :) I even hear that Mummy and Dad are thinking of buying some more of this lovely faux fur to make matching cat blankets for under our big bed at the end of the chaise lounge and for the back of the sofa where we all like to sit for much of the evening. Well we can see the TV over the beans heads from there you know! ;) I do so hope that Mummy sticks to her word and gets some more of this lovely fluff as I'm a cat who likes the good things in life you know...

Now where did I leave my catnip fishy?! I'm feeling in need of a little more 'nip in my system...

Purring for World Peas...

It's time I reminded every kitty to give Peas a Chance! Although I must say I did find a roast carrot a few days ago and they too are most tasty and greatly to my liking! :) So if you can't find Peas, then Roast Carrots are certainly worth a try...

What do you mean I've got it all wrong again?! Honestly it's not a side affect from a life time of 'nip abuse, and my ears have been cleaned recently... Oh well if I keep trying I'll eventually find Peace! In the meantime I'll stick to my Peas, while giving Roast Carrots a chance... ;)

Winter is coming too early this year (I like it to arrive on December 20th and leave again Jan 3rd) and I'm feeling the cold. So to keep myself from freezing I decided to raid the dressing up box that the long suffering Yao-Lin sent to us earlier in the year!

First of all I looked at the Hawaiian outfit and decided a pink bikini top and a grass skirt really wasn't warm enough, let alone an outfit befitting my dignity. I think it's more an Isis thing... Next came the teddy bear hat, which I tried on for size. It's a little small, but does keep the ears nice and warm, plus it'd stay on well if I wanted to wear it outside - so I think I'll put my pawmark on that one! ;) Then came the deer stalker hat, with it's little holes for my ears to poke through. Surprisingly this also keeps them pretty warm and it's a far better fit (although I think Mummy should add some Velcro or elastic to the ear flaps so I can keep it on firmly when I want to venture out in the cold). Lastly I added the scarf to my ensemble, this not only gives it an extra layer of warmth, but I think it rather finishes off the look! :) Oh yes that one's my outfit for sure and has been suitably pawmarked as such. Purrsonally In think it's very fetching and it certainly helps keep a poor cold kitty warm at this time of year, which of course if most important!

The only other thing I now need is a hot teddy bear to cuddle with from SantaPaws! Something like a Beanie baby, but wheat filled so Mummy can warm it up for me in the microwave oven before putting me to bed with it. Oh yer something like that would be purrfect for a cat like me... :)

Mancat Monday - Harvesting the Catnip!

Oh what a wonderful weekend it's been here! Firstly Mummy, Dad and My Boy took Isis away for the day on Saturday, so that Ramses and I could have to lovely peaceful mancat time to ourselves, following a good breakfast served to us at the correct time for a change! ;)

The day was full of the smells of stewing steak as Mummy'd put a casserole on in the slow cooker so they had dinner to come home too, this caused many lovely dreams about swimming in slowly stewed steak I can tell you! So when everyone arrived home with Isis and some fishy Bozita we were most grateful and scoffed the lot in no time flat... ;) Things just kept getting better and better, as Mummy bought out of a carrier bag a small bag of Royal Canin Digestive Comfort 38 which is most tasty and very crunchy too, just the way I like my bikky! Mummy says that if Ramses and I like this we can have a big bag of it in about a month's time, so needless to say we're both making the bikky vanish and fussing round Mummy lots... ;) Sadly Mummy also bought something to keep us mancats out of the kitten bikky ready for Isis next litter of kittens, so much for our gaining weight in sympathy and all that! :(

Finally and best of all after harvesting the last of the carrots, bringing in some more runner beans, starting on the sweetcorn and getting a few more tomotoes and chillis from the veg patch and greenhouse, Mummy decided to help me harvest some of the catnip and dry it ready to make into toys for Kissmouse Day! :) Oh what a wonderful smell came wafting from the kitchen as the 'nip dryed, I just lay on the floor snorting in the good smells and dreaming of new toys and vast piles of 'nip. Seeing my tortured and wistful state Mummy was good enough to supply me with a little of the good stuff to give it a good quality control check, I can happily inform you that it's some of the very bestest 'nip I have ever had the pleasure of rolling in, snorting and generally hoovering up! :) Ramses had a little and even Isis partook of d'nip and both agreed it was the finest ever!!!!

My Boy is Back and Meme

Oh what a wonderful life it is, the decoration is nearly done, all the tiles are up in the kitchen, the birds are in the garden and D'boy is home at long last! :) I've missed him so much and now he's home and all is right in my World... Soon he will be rested and the toys will come out again and I can play with them, oh how I have missed the Lego! ;)

Other than that I have been tagged for a meme by Black Cat, so seeing as I'm in such a good mood today I thought I'd do it! :)

1) I have a real passion for Lego and love nothing better than running round the house with some little Lego man in my mouth, while D'boy chases me to save his poor little Lego man from his fate! ;)

2) I love to eat sweetcorn, it's my fave and I'll even leave meat to get to one of those sweet and tender niblets! :)

3) I'm mostly forced to sleep alone, none of the other cats will sleep with me even... All this just because I snore really loudly! :(

4) I love my belly, so much so that I like to show it off all the time and keep my belly fur down to a bare minimum so it's far more visible than it would be if I let all my black fluffs grow all over it! ;)

5) I love to nip the seams of Mummy's jeans and trousers, (one of the reasons she often wears skirts I hear. I even do it to Dad's occasionally, but as yet he hasn't chosen to wear skirts! ;)

6) I love teddy bears and sleep with them as often as possible, well they don't complain about my snoring so why not?! ;)

These are all elements of what make me unique and different from those Abys that Mum loves so much. Honestly she'd be lost without me and my own special ways! :)

Mancat Monday Meme

Well it's been an interesting weekend here, Ramses and I had a peaceful day on Saturday after being served breakfast at the proper time for once. Mummy & Dad took Isis out for the day to make it an extra good and restful day for us mancats, so even if Ramses was a bit of a whiny baby about missing Mummy and 'sis it was lovely to have so much peace and quiet! :) When at last they came home they bought home piles and piles of the yummy Swedish cat food I told you all about a while back - so I forgave them for bringing Isis home again! ;)

Far Away Family Friday...

As some of you will remember my boy is off on holiday in Canada at the moment, much to my annoyance I might add...
It seems I have to time share him with Garfie his Canadian cat, whether I want to or not! :(

So the Lego is packed away and no one wants to play toy cars with me, what's more when I decide to sit on Mummy she fidgets way too much! Plus she's just a little too tall to give me the room I require to sleep at the foot of her bed - a good 3ft is all I ask for, but she moans that her legs go numb if she's forced to sleep all curled up in a ball. Honestly if they're that numb she can't feel them, so what's the problem?!

Anyway as you can all tell I'm suffering from neglect and have abandonment issues, so when my boy phoned Dad last night to wish him a Happy Birthday I jumped onto his lap and head butted the phone until he got the message and told my boy I wanted to talk to him. So there I sat on Dad's lap with the phone held to my ear and purred at my boy as he said nice things to me. It seems Garfie is not as good a playmate as me and will only play toy cars for 20-30 mins before wanting a nap, and believe it or not he has no passion for Lego! I mean what is Lego without a cat to help take your little men on wild adventures? With me by his side my boy's Lego men live a life of great daring, often grasped around the neck, head first in my mouth as I rush off into the distance awaiting my boy to come and mount an intrepid rescue operation! :)

At least I hear that it's now only both ears and all my claws until my boy comes home and by the time Dad starts working again next week it'll just be all my claws - from then on it's an easy countdown until he's back where he belongs and my toys will be out again! :)

Mancat and My Birthday Monday!

Oh what a wonderful Mancat Monday, my boy is back from Yao-lin's Island and it's full of toys and tasty treats for me because I'm 8 years old today! :) This morning I got a new mousie toy, the little mousie is attached to a purple ball and wobbles and moves when you bop it senseless! It's deeply satisfying to belt it silly... ;)

Following that I had some gormet cat food from Sweden for my breakfast and I heat I'm getting more of it for dinner too and this time it'll be Reindeer flavour! :) Oh how I've always wanted to nibble Roudolf and Mummy has finally sensed this and is enabeling me to live out my dreams... ;)

I hear I have some more toys to come after D'boy gets back from school and the Dr's (he's having a tetanus shot), I can smell them on the top shelf in the living room, but can't quite get to them so I'll have to wait for now... Though this mousie may well suffer greatly due to my frustration! ;)

Time now for a Birthday nap on the sofa in Mummy's office I think... Oh yer life is sweet one days like this! :)

It's a strange day today, but I have many things to be thankful for too... While my friend Tigs the Norwegian Forest cat who lives with Noodle Doodle, Isis sister, is at the vets really sick with a blocked of the urethra due to strutive crystals, my other friend Baby Mao is at home and under the bed hiding from Yao-lin while recovering from food poisoning and our very dear friend Storm spends her last hours with her wonderful Mummy and her loving brother Castle, I can still think of reasons for thanks! :)

Firstly I'm thankful that I have so many wonderful friends! :) Yes, it's sad when they are sick or dying, but I have had many lovely times because of them and have so many great memories - for these I am very thankful! :)

Secondly I'm so glad that Tigs Mummy noticed that he wasn't peeing and in pain yesterday afternoon, as he was fully blocked and only hours away from causing permanent kidney damage or even death! I'm thankful that his Mummy got cross at the receptionist and insisted she called the Vet in straight away instead of leaving him there until evening surgery hours. With a blockage like he had time is very much of the essence... I'm most thankful that she just phoned to tell Mummy that he's been catheterized and can now pee, so his kidneys are at least safe now and she'll keep us updated on his progress! I'm grateful and thankful too now to have FLUTD myself as I've been able to get Mummy to send her a list of all the tricks she used for making sure I drink enough and eat the Rx food etc that keeps me flowing freely! ;)

Thirdly I'm thankful that Baby Mao is home and getting better even if he has to do so hidden under the bed away from Yao-lin! I hope that silly boy has learnt his lesson about eating stuff Yao-lin dares him to eat... ;)

Fourthly I am thankful that Storm has been my friend and the friend of all here... She is a wonderful ladycat and has fought so very hard and beaten her cancer not once, but twice. She beat the odds too and lived nearly twice as long as they'd thought she would! It's just that her body is too old and tired from all her battling to go on and so she will spend the last few hours with her wonderful Mummy and lovely brother Castle, watching all the nature programs that she loves before crossing the bridge with a little help from her loyal Vet Ben tomorrow just after 1pm... I am thankful that she can cross the bridge in the same dignified manner that she has always shown, even in the face of adversity and disease. I am thankful that she will do so surrounded by love, both with her and by her side as well as from afar around the Blogsphere.

Lastly I'm thankful that she will have a ladycat meezer over the bridge to help guide her way, in the form of Mummy's own dear Barbie-Q, another battler like Stormie I am sure they will have many hours together rolling in the heavenly catnip fields...

My new buddy Simon tagged me for the "My Five Sense"A"Shuns" meme, that was started by Zoolatry.
1. With my beautiful eyes I can see kittens everywhere it seems!

2. With my soft nose I can smell my breakfast of stinky goodness, kittens are good at waking Mummy up for early breakfasts! :)

3. With my velvet paws I can touch kittens, but Mummy keeps telling me not to touch them too hard even if I wanna play "bop" with them... *sigh*

4. With my sharp ears I can hear my Dad waking up and finding himself covered in excitable little kittens wanting to play "bitey" with his toes! ;)

What is it about my requirements that Mummy doesn't get? I want my steak and venison cut up a certain way and to just the right size, is that so much to ask? I think not! Does she get it right, again I think not! So there's me having to not only put up with a house full of kittens that insist on being too cute and helpless to play "bop" with, but I have to put up with inferior quality service round here! It's just shocking what I have to cope with...

I mean I had to moan loudly for over 2 minutes this morning before Mummy'd put down her mug of tea and slice of toast to get up from the table to let me out into the cat run! Did she think I'd shut up or go away because she didn't jump at my first command, if she did she's sadly mistaken! ;) Remember Mummy, I am Mancat hear me moan! I want some catnip now!!!!!!!

Well I thought I should surface between naps for once and say something here... Ramses and Isis are taking up so much of Mummy's time these days... :( But I must say Ramses latest idea has me interested! :)

He says we're going to get a visit from the Stork here later this week or so. Well at Stork or a Heron, we're not sure we've ever seen a Stork, but know we've often seen Heron locally! :) So when it visits we thought we'd capture it and have a big party, I mean there's a lot of eating on a Stork or Heron surely?! ;)

I've just had the yummiest dinner ever! Oh boy was it good and what's better yet is I still have some more in the fridge! :) Those silly Aby's weren't fast enough off the mark to try it as it was new and different, so I hit pay dirt and got lots... They thought they'd like their bit better mixed with stinky goodness, and while I can say it did taste nice that way too (ok, so I tried some of Ramses dinner as well as eating all of mine), what I had was way better! :) So as promised here's the basic recipe:

Kitty Paella
3/4 Cup Chicken
Trimmings from 6 small to med squid
A few prawns or shrimp
1 tbsp rice
1 tsp tomato juice (to help acidify the food for Tig's - therefore optional)
Enough water for the rice and to cover the meat and seafood

Add everything to a small saucepan, cover with the water and bring to the boil. Simmer until the rice is fully cooked (about 10-15 mins) and blitz with a food processor so that it's in tiny bits, but not so it's total mush. Allow to cool to room temperature and mix in kitty vitamins and minerals. Serve, either on it's own or added to stinky goodness - fishy stinky goodness or chicken is recommended if you're doing that. Keep any extra in a Tupperware container in the fridge and use within 2 days.

Any kitty not liking the results can forward them to me for disposal as I'll happily eat this until my belly makes me look like I'm pregnant just like Isis! ;)

Oi, Mummy what do you mean by saying my belly's already bigger than Isis... :P Just you wait and see who'll be prodding your bladder at 4am! ;)

My Monday Meme!

Well since I'z gotted a second Thinking Blog award the other day from Bonnie and Victor and I'z just hadded one of those I'z putted my finking head on and came up with something brand new and different! :) Oh yes, I'z purrfectly capable of finking about stuff other than food and sleep... ;) So here it is *drum roll maestro please!*

It's nice and simple, all you need to do is tell everyone 3 things that are new with you! Link it back to me and the purrson who gave it to you and pass it on to 3 more kitties you'd like to know more about! :)

So here goes, the 3 things that are new with me are:

1. I'z actually snuggled with Ramses in d'big new multi cat bed Mummy boughted for us! I'z almost never snuggle with him or any kitty for that matter, cause I'z don't like it when they'z complain about my snoring... ;)

2. I'z doing my bestest to assist Isis with her pregnancy by helpin' her eat the extra food she's starting to demand from Mummy! I'z fink it's only what my duty to her requires and I'z promise to do the same for all d'kittens too... :) Eeer, what's dis about a diet Mummy?! :S

3. I'z took all 3 of the crochet 'nip pillows that Mummy made for us at KissMouse and putted them in Isis play tent last night, then I'z gotted into the tent and snuggled up good and proper with d'lovely 'nip pillows! It was kinda like crawling inside a rudimentary kitty bong and I'z highly recommend it to each and every 'niphead out there! ;)

In time I'z hope the Caesar shaped hole in their hearts heals enough to show some of their amazing love to another lucky kitty, but for now I'z hope they know that my thoughts are with them and those of my housemates Ramses and Isis too...

Well it seems that my occasionally bothering to wake up and do more than just feed my face and crawl back to bed has paid off! :) It seems that a certain Royal Meezer with his own Island finks I'z just as bright as any Abyssinian or Meezer... Purrsonally I'z sure it's all down to my explaining to him how to find a full bladder with a heavy paw every single morning! Oh yes, iffen you work hard to refine this most valuable of skills, you too can have a Mummy who jumps outta bed first thing in d'morning with a great deal of urgency... Dis really speeds up d'time it takes her to get up and feed me (d'others appreciate my skill too as they both like prompt breakfasts), we'z suffer no delays here! :) I'z always glad to be able to pass on dis most vital bit of feline wisdom and fink it's my duty as an honorary Uncle to Isis future kittens to teach dem all this trick before unleashing dem onto the unsuspecting public! ;)

Just look at how purrty I'z am in dis foto Mummy did of me... I'z all done up in bows for my sweety Bonnie in Cornwall! :) Oh how I'z love my Bonbons... She sends me yummy treats and I'z send her some back - we'z got so much in common... Such as eatin', sleepin' , using vast quantities of d'nip, treats, finding d'bestest sport for a nap and looking after our beautiful black furs! She is my purrfect ladycat! :)

She'z haded kittens when she was very young and they all live with her and her Mummy, so I'z guess I'z kinda got step-kittens... :) They'z all very well behaved (unlike the lunatic monkey cat Mummy boughted home to live with us this summer...) When I mention what a total nutter Isis is to Mummy she keeps tellin' me she'll grow out of it in time... I'z just not sure I'z wanna give her that much time some days! ;) But I'z guess it could be worserer and she'z could wanna play with me all the time like she does with paw Ramses... Oh well she's his little 'sis, so maybe he's used to this sort of thing from his littermates! ;) All of mine however were purrfectly behaved just like I am! :)

I'z been busy all week, trying to write my list for Santa Paws... It's very hard to remember all the things I'z want, specially when I'z had my nose in d'nip bag again! ;) But I fink I gotted most of it down on paper in the end... :)

Dear Santa Paws,

As you'z know I'z been the bestest of cats all year long. I'z resisted the urge to "thwap" Ramses for at least 2 or 3 seconds most days and have restrained myself from "bopping" Isis more than totally necessary (I'z mean it's not my fault that she's silly and needs a lot of "bopping" to set her straight!). I'z played nice with my boy and remembered not to ignore Mummy and Dad until feeding time - I'z now make at least 2 mins time for them a day between nappin' and feedin', so you can tell I'z made a real effort! :)

So since I'z been good I'z want the following:

More Logo men to put the bitey on
1 large bag of 'nip and a dark room
1 nip pillow filled with d'good stuff
Some toy mices as Isis gotted my last lot
More room on d'sofa, there seems to be less room for my bottom of late...
A bigger cat bed, for similar reasons
More regular access to my Boy's hockey kit bag - it smells better than 'nip in there!
Less grooming, I'z hate the brush
Less pawdicures, I'z got uses for my lovely long, sharp nails! ;)
More bigger dinners, more often! :)
More toy cars, for a similar reason to d'Lego
A large pile of cat treats - it's not fair that I can't have 'em cause of my FLUTD :(
Larger helpings of leftovers - Oh and did I mention d'sofa and cat bed are feelin' a bit small?

Dat VET! :(

I'z gotted to go to d'VET's last night, so I could ride in the car on Dad's lap and save any embarrassing accidents in the PTU. It's only about 1 minute away in d'car, but I'z so hates PTU trips that I always pees and poops in it and then horror of horrors I'z has to have a bath! :(

Anyway I'z gotted to d'VET's with my dignity intact and because I'z a good housemate and furriend to Ramses, I'z opted to go first (and get it over and done with). Anyway d'VET wasn't our usual lady vet, but I letted him touch me... Dat was my first mistake, cause he had big hands and wasn't all careful like where he putted the poky! :( So I'z did what any Mancat would have done in my place and hissed at him... :) Well the silly fing jumped and acted like some silly scaredy sheep! ;) It was funny watching him freak out I'z must say, so when he gaved me my booster shots I yowled so loud I bet he peed himself... :)

So as an act of revenge he tolded Mummy that I should really loose .5Kg, honestly if you'd seen him you'd have tolded him he needed to loose a lot more than .5Kg himself and while he was at it his furs weren't looking in good condition, so maybe he needed to have a bath and some flea treatment before he was given a good long brushing! But just to be on the safe side I'z fink I'z should have been allowed to shove a thermometer up his #13 to make sure he wasn't gettin' sick! ;) It would have maded me feel better to have been able to do that, honest it would, cause not once did he bother to say how lovely I was... :( Just that I needed to loose a bit of weight and would probably need to have my teefs cleaned soon! I'z now feelin' most indignant!

Eer, have I'z really slept for a week?!

It seems I'z really did over do d'nip the other week and have pretty much slept the last week away... I'z pretty impressed at my sleepin' skills and fink I might just be able to reach Olympic sleepin' levels in time for the 2012 Olympics if I keeps my trainin' up! ;)

Honest I'z didn't sleep through the whole of my boy's birthday, 'cause I'd have missed out on some yummy roasty dinner if I'z had! But I dided my bestest all the same...

Just to make up for this marathon sleep I'z had a little break for freedom when the post lady came with packages for Mummy this morning. I'z like to do this as it keeps Mummy busy and gives me a chance to get a fuss of the post lady too! Well she does always say how beautiful I'z am and what lovely furs I have and I so hate to disappoint my public! ;)

Ok, can everykitty be quiet today 'cause I'z feelin' a little delicate... Mummy says I'z sufferin' from a hangover, but she'z can't be right as I don't have d'energy to hang over anyfing! I'z just want the room to stop movin' and for everyone to keep nice and quiet... Oh ok Mummy, I'm supposed to remember to use my peas and fank ewes. So peas be quiet and I'd fank you not to look at the photo Mummy took of me and let Ramses post dismorning! I'z dat better Mummy?!

Oh my head... Maybe I shouldn't have nosedived into d'nip the way I did. Ok, maybe I should have stopped taking d'nip after de first 24 hrs, but it was just so good! I'z trainin' for a new world record you'z see... So far I can manage 48 hrs of straight 'nip usage, with much practice I'z fink I can manage a full week - but it'll take great dedication and I know I'm Mancat enough for d'job! Now if you'd all peas be quiet....

Since I'z been asked about my name a few times I thought I'd better get round to 'xplaining where it comes from and all that interestin' stuff! :)

First of all when Mummy and Dad decided they wanted to spend their lives together Dad told Mummy he was allergic to cats! :( This was his only bad point I guess, so Mummy being catless at the time put up with the fact that she was going to have to lead a sad and catless life to be with Dad... So they loved in together and a year later they bought this house and moved here. Still Mummy was sad and catless, but she loved Dad so much that she suffered quietly. Then one cold wet night in late October a bedraggled tuxie turned up in the back garden looking very sorry for himself and cold. Mummy let him into the garage so he could get out of the rain and she and my boy helped dry him off with some old towels...

When Dad came home they showed him the tuxie and 'cause it was rainin' so hard Dad agreed to go get it some cat food from the shops. Mummy gave it a bowl of water and made it a warm, dry place to snuggle up for the night. Soon Dad came back with a tin of food and some bikky and it had a belly at least as it dried off. The people who'd had the house before Mummy and Dad had had a cat and so the garage door had a cat flap in it. So the mystery tuxie could get outside if he wanted to go, and get back in again if he wanted to stay...

He stayed and the next night it got really, really cold so before Dad came home from work Mummy let the tuxie in the house for some more food. Dad came home early and found Mummy, my boy and the tuxie all happy in the kitchen and suddenly he felt really sorry for him and said that the tuxie could stay in until bedtime as long as it didn't set off an allergic reaction or asthma attack in him... That evening Dad decided they better give the cat a name and so asked Mummy if he could call it Mut after the goddess as he didn't know the tuxie was a Mancat! ;) But the cat seemed to like the name and kept coming for food, and Mummy was just so happy to have a cat in her life again that she didn't mention it to him... :)

Soon Mummy decided they better get Mut a collar as they needed to know if someone owned him and if not let everyone know he was being looked after. Mummy wrote a little note and put it in an ID barrel giving their name and number and saying this cat kept coming over for food and spending the night with them. A few days later Mummy got the call she was dreading, Mut was called Al and was a much loved cat who's family had been silly enough to bring a puppy home and upset him with it! They thanked Mummy ever so much for making sure he was fed and safe and returned the collar she's bought him... When Dad came home he found both Mummy and my boy crying and was told that Mut was Al and had gone home to his family.

A few days passed and Mummy and my boy were very quiet and sad, Dad found he was sad too and since he'd not reacted to Al thought it might be possible to find another cat with similar furs and bring him home for my boy's 5th Birthday at the end of November. He asked Mummy what she thought and she was overjoyed! :) Soon they were looking for a rescue cat with nice short sleek furs...

They looked at a few cats and called around about a few more and then went to the RSPCA cat place near here and found me! I looked different from the other cats, I was big and black and regal looking. Not a huge one for fuss, but happy to be held... They asked about my history and found I'd been given to the RSPCA by my owner 'cause of my tendency to run away from home all the time! (Well I didn't likez them, so what did they expect from me?!) I was 14 months old and had been fixed and micro chipped already and most important of all my furs was lovely! :) Dad was sure my furs wouldn't affect him and he buried his face in my side to see what happened (he was packing asthma and allergy meds in his pocket just in case I hear!) Nothing happened and I just purred softly, so they asked if theyz could take me home - since no one wanted to risk taking a purrsistent runaway home, the RSPCA were really pleased to have found me someone who wanted to. So they sent Mummy, Dad and my boy off to get me a PTU and said I could go home with them straight away if they got one! :)

They came back with the new PTU pretty fast and even though I'z hates PTU's I got in happily and as soon as the paperwork was done I gotz to go in the scary metal monster and come here! :) Soon I had taken full ownership of the house and my boy too! :) Best yet Dad said to Mummy that he could only put up with one cat, so I needed to have a special name...

So'z Mummy put her thinking cap on big time... I'd been called Tigger by my original peoples, but it really didn't suite me a big black cat! So Mummy took the Tig for my beginning, and added the Mut the Goddess name Dad liked to it, and finally the 'Hep 'cause of what I did to my PTU when I came home... You see Hapi (Hapy, Hap, Hep) is the God of the Nile. Mostly associated with the annual floods, the inundation and I'd certainly flooded my PTU good... ;)
So there you have the full reason behind my unique name Tigmut'hep! :) Sadly Dad was wrong and I wasn't an only cat for long... When I became ill and had to stay in Mummy adopted Ramses for me to play with and then she went all funny in d'head... Now we'z got Isis too and soonz we'll have her kittens as well! Maybe I should think about tryin' to run away again?! But first of all I'z needs a nap and a good dinner and then it'll be dark, so I'd better sleep on it 'till morning... Then after a good breakfast and a nap I'll think about it carefully 'till it's time for lunch and my afternoon nap... Err, ok I finks I'll stay here 'cause it'd take too much energy to runaway and I'z not sure if anyone'd rehome my boy with me! ;) Oh and then there's d'Legos and toy cars and my teddy bear collection to rehome... Anyone got a container lorry?! ;)

7 Random and/or Weird Facts About Me!

1. I love watching fireworks, but when we get ones at the front and back of the house I get upset and confused as I can't work out which ones to watch first!
2. I'm teddy bear mad
3. I loves My Boy most of all... :)
4. My Boy has loads of cool toys I can play with, like Lego and toy cars!
5. Lego is a vastly underrated cat toy, specially the little peoples that can be carried off in your mouth... ;)
6. I'z loves eating vishus deer, but have to pretty much live on Rx foods cause I don't produce some chemical in my body...
7. This lack of whatever it is causes me to have problems with my bladder and I therefore don't like drinking much, this in turn has caused me to suffer from FLUTD! :(

Since I don't knowz any other black cats here who'z not done it already I'll have to leave this as an open tag, play along if you like and link back to me so I can find more black furriends! :)

Thank you everykitty for visiting my own blog! :) I'm feelin' very special having a blog of my own and all... I just have to remember not to nap through the day as often as normal, or it won't get many posts added! ;)

It's not really my fault that I take the good things in life seriously, like the study of the underside of my own eyelids for a start! ;) Though I'm also keenly interested in the contents of my cat bowl, or one of the other cats bowls... I don't really mind if it's Ramses or Isis bowl, just as long as they've left me a little non Rx food for me to nibble on! ;)

Since we're having a party here this Saturday while Mummy, and Dad take My Boy out for the night, I'd better make sure there's a really good selection of food stuffs here, from stinky goodness to fresh meat and all things in between! Not forgetting the need for a large supply of d'nip! :) Oh and maybe Mummy can find me some honeysuckle wood to share with my furriends too, that stuff's premo for sure! :)

Teddy Bears and Fireworks...

It's hard being me... All week we've had fireworks going off around there and it's very upsetting to me! You see people keep setting them off at the back of us and at the front at the same time, leaving us surrounded by fireworks going bang and sparkle all around... How do they expect me to work out which ones to watch?! I can't keep running from the back windows to the front of the ones, it's exhausting me for a start and I usually wind up missing the fireworks anyway... :(

So I've taken to my boy's bed with the teddy bears only to find I'm being told off for cleaning them up for him! Apparently he doesn't think the teddy bears want to keep themselves nicely groomed... I mean how does he know what they want?! He's at school all day, neglecting them. It's me they snuggle with all day long and I just know they want a good grooming now and then - even if it does sometimes bring on premature ageing and even baldness in some cases...! The side effects aren't all that wonderful either, 'cause Mummy and Dad insist on giving me Femalt hairball remedy when I start coughing up multicoloured furballs... Maybe I should insist on my boy only having black or brown teddy bears in future?! ;)

I won't be out done!

If Ramses can have one so can I and it'll be better than his by far! Now that everyone understands that I'm off for a lie down with the teddy bears and a large dose of some good 'nip - purely for therapeutic reasons of course... ;)
